Depuis plusieurs mois, si ce ne sont pas des années, dès que l’on parle d’antiracisme, l’atmosphère est doublement lourde dans notre pays.
Elle l’est en raison des faits récurrents de racisme et d’antisémitisme qui se sont par ailleurs multipliés depuis la rentrée de septembre : discours de Zemmour appelant publiquement à des quasi-ratonnades, polémiques sans fin sur le voile qui ne sont pas sans rapport avec l’agression d’une femme voilée en plein conseil régional par un élu du Front national, tags antisémites en série dans les universités, attentat antimusulman contre la mosquée de Bayonne dans lequel deux musulmans ont failli perdre la vie…
Mais elle est également lourde parce que, depuis trop longtemps, se développe l’idée que nous ne pourrions plus lutter ensemble contre les fléaux du racisme, de l’antisémitisme et des discriminations. Aux noirs de s’occuper du racisme antinoir, aux Juifs de s’occuper de l’antisémitisme, aux musulmans de lutter contre la musulmanophobie… Dans chacun de ces groupes, des entrepreneurs identitaires développent avec force cette idée. Idée funeste qui occulte que c’est ensemble que les haines se brisent et que la lutte contre le racisme est un combat citoyen qui concerne chacun d’entre nous. Séparés, l’échec est certain et le modèle de société que l’on prépare se révèle épouvantable.
C’est pourquoi, suite à l’attentat contre la mosquée de Bayonne, SOS Racisme a tenu à tourner le dos à ces dynamiques dans lesquelles trop de politiques trouvent leur compte, que ce soit par haine, par cynisme ou par populisme. En lien avec la société civile de Bayonne, c’est une marche pour la solidarité et pour la paix qui a été organiséepiur que soit dit dans l’espace public le refus de la haine raciste. Et c’est ainsi qu’à Bayonne, le 15 décembre 2019, une foule de plusieurs centaines de personnes, calmes, déterminées et heureuses de se retrouver au-delà de leurs différences d’origine, de couleurs, de milieux sociaux et d’âges, s’est élancée du quartier des Hauts de Sainte-Croix où vivent beaucoup des musulmans de la ville pour rejoindre les alentours de l’hôtel de Ville. Ce dimanche 15 décembre fut une belle après-midi à Bayonne car ce fut une après-midi antiraciste à laquelle j’eus le plaisir de participer, aux côtes d’une des deux victimes de l’attentat entouré de sa famille. Il est dommageable que les responsables politiques et les représentants de l’Etat aient été si peu présents. Mais la défaillance, l’adversité ou l’indifférence des uns et des autres n’aboliront pas notre détermination à créer une société fondée sur l’égale dignité.
