L’intention de Steven est de concevoir des tenues en floraison, retranscrire du bouton embrassant le corps comme il enveloppe la fleur, de son éclosion jusqu’à son épanouissement triomphal et rempli de joies.
La femme selon Steven Khalil est forte, passionnée et assurée, elle aime à exprimer sa féminité, le pouvoir d’une silhouette spectaculaire.
Steven a conçu une collection riche en détails et utilisant des techniques de broderie exclusives pour des créations qu’il espère surprenantes. Chaque pièce est minutieusement construite, individuellement tout en faisant partie d’une même histoire. Certaines de ces robes toutes faites main peuvent prendre de 100 à 200 heures pour la conception, la construction et la finition. Cela fait partie de l’ADN de la marque. Chaque collection est à la fois différente et spéciale.
Jouer avec la superposition, créer des touffes de raphia qui reposent sur une base métallique argentée pour amplifier le lustre. Combinant georgette de soie rose poudre coupée à la main avec un fin fil métallique intriqué rappelant la vigne. Et même intégrer de petits éclats d’étamines comme un rappel du thème floral. Les pièces densément brodées sont conçues comme un feuillage qui se sépare en grappes individuelles plus petites. Davantage de textures en utilisant des perles de métal argenté, noir de jais et vert-de-gris pour plus de lustre et de brillance. Un velours de soie plus profond et plus somptueux vient renforcer l’opposition mate / brillante de la broderie.
BIOGRAPHIE
Steven a grandi dans la banlieue de l’ouest de Sydney et, dès son plus jeune âge, il était destiné à devenir designer. Enfant, il était fasciné par les tissus, les textures et les imprimés. Sa mère lui a acheté sa première machine à coudre à l’âge de 7 ans. Steven vécut un moment marquant en regardant le mariage de la princesse Diana et à partir de ce moment, il décida de devenir créateur. Après avoir terminé ses études de mode à 19 ans, on commença à le reconnaître pour la qualité de son travail et de sa recherche d’un design unique. Il a rapidement traversé plusieurs maisons de robes de mariées et fut nommé designer en chef à tout juste 22 ans. En 2003, il crée sa propre maison de couture à Paddington, Sydney.
Le fait de se concentrer sur la mariée a toujours été au cœur de la marque, mais ces dernières années, Steven a élargi son champ d’action, notamment en habillant des célébrités. Il associe des éléments classiques d’époques avec des touches plus contemporaines. Il conçoit, crée et produit les collections en interne et collabore avec des entreprises de tissus et de broderies de confiance pour concevoir des looks uniques. La marque a présenté trois collections lors de la Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia à Sydney et deux collections avec Fashion Palette à New York.
L’ADN de la marque, bien qu’évoluant avec chaque collection, est demeuré constant, dans une approche adaptée à chaque individu. Cela se caractérise par un véritable accompagnement avec chaque client pour créer une expérience de couture personnalisée et, finalement, une robe.
Cette philosophie filtre à son tour dans ses collections de mode. Steven veut faire en sorte qu’une femme se sente forte, belle et féminine.
